On this cold day!

I have been looking for images for Christmascards today, and found this from a couple of years back – there is something about it that I like, strange really as barbed wire is so un snow like!!

Cold Snap !

Yesterday I had an early start with a morning meeting in Saltash, so I go to start the car and it was iced up, doors frozen shut and these amazing patterns all over which took me right back to my childhood and the ice patterns on the windows, cold lino and cold water to wash in – probably where I learnt that washing is not good for you! Anyway, the big camera was up in the studio wired into the flashes and remote trigger so I took out the point and shoot G9 and got these! I think this is where having a black car pays off!

Out and About

Although vision is still blurred I have managed to get a few photos – the magic of modern cameras (these are from a point and shoot and I did!), some of these are the ice on the side of the River Tamar which almost seems fluid as the tide ebbs and flows. And one is to show that spring is just around the corner………

Again these have not been played with – some were taken before dawn or sunrise over Dartmoor, again with one eye out of commission.

ICE!

After one of the coldest nights for a while – a walk along the Tamar and up into the woods produced a series of chilled photos! The river had frozen at the edges during hightide leaving the ice as it lowered…..
